What’s Included
- Hawes Firearms .44 Cal. Navy Model percussion revolver
This open-top Colt-style percussion revolver uses a wedge-retained 7.5 inch octagonal barrel with a hinged loading lever. It operates in single-action and is configured for .44 black powder cap-and-ball use, holding six rounds in the cylinder.
The brass frame, trigger guard, and backstrap contrast with the blued/black steel barrel and cylinder. The hammer and loading lever are case-hardened, and the cylinder is plain without a naval battle roll-engraving.
Sighting is straightforward, with a brass post/bead front sight and a hammer-notch rear. A one-piece varnished hardwood grip provides a classic feel consistent with the Navy pattern.
Markings include ".44 CAL. NAVY MODEL made in Italy" and "HAWES FIREARMS CO. LOS ANGELES CALIF," along with Italian proof and inspection marks. This Italian-made reproduction reflects the classic lines and operation of the 1851-pattern revolver while carrying the Hawes import lineage.
