This is a first-generation pre-M2.0 Smith & Wesson M&P40 full-size pistol in .40 S&W with no external thumb safety. It features a black Melonite-finished slide, a stainless steel barrel with a Melonite finish, 3-dot sights, and ambidextrous/reversible controls. It comes with six 15-round magazines, two extra backstraps, and the factory case and manual. The bore is excellent, and overall condition is very good.

Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

The M&P40 pre-M2.0 configuration delivers a proven full-size platform with a polymer frame and an embedded stainless-steel chassis. It uses a striker-fired action with a hinged two-piece trigger that integrates a safety lever. This example is the no-thumb-safety model and includes a sear deactivation lever for disassembly.
The slide wears a black Melonite (nitrided) finish and features fish-scale serrations at the front and rear for confident manipulation. Sights are a 3-dot iron setup with a drift-adjustable dovetail rear. The stainless steel barrel also carries a Melonite finish for surface hardness and corrosion resistance.
Control layout is user-focused, with an ambidextrous slide stop and a reversible magazine release that is currently installed on the left side. An integral three-slot accessory rail is molded into the dust cover for mounting compatible lights or other rail accessories.
This full-size .40 S&W has a 15+1 capacity and comes well-equipped with six factory 15-round magazines and two additional palm-swell backstraps to tailor the grip. It is identified as factory part number 209000 and is made in the United States.
