The XD-M 4.5-inch .45 ACP is a full-size, striker-fired, short recoil operated pistol built on a black polymer frame with a forged steel slide in black Melonite. It is part of the XD-M series and is designated by Springfield Armory as model XDM94545B. Proof and import markings include "Made in Croatia" and "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S.A."
The 4.5-inch barrel is hammer-forged, match-grade, and fully supported, with a Melonite finish for durability. The slide features front and rear cocking serrations and a loaded chamber indicator for quick status checks. A striker status indicator provides additional visual/tactile feedback.
Safety features include a grip safety and a bladed trigger safety, complemented by the loaded chamber indicator and striker status indicator. The ambidextrous magazine release supports left- and right-handed operation, and interchangeable backstraps allow the grip to be tailored to the shooter.
