Kimber CDS9 Classic OR 9mm Luger Micro-Compact, 15+1 Capacity, 3.18 in Match-Grade Barrel, Optics-Ready RMSc
Introduced in 2024, the Kimber CDS9 Classic OR is a micro-compact, double-stack, single-action 1911-derived pistol built for high capacity in a small footprint. It pairs a 3.18 in match-grade stainless barrel with 5R rifling and a KimPro II finished aluminum-alloy frame, and it ships optics-ready with an RMSc footprint and cover plate. Designed and manufactured in Troy, Alabama, USA, it delivers modern features with a familiar 1911-style manual of arms.
The slide includes forward and rear serrations, lightening cuts, and an external extractor for reliable operation and easy manipulation. Fixed sights combine a green fiber-optic front with a black rear notch for a clean, fast sight picture. A flat-faced trigger, rowel-style hammer, and thumb safety round out a straightforward, shooter-focused control layout.

The CDS9 Classic OR uses a double-stack magazine system that holds 15+1 rounds of 9mm Luger while maintaining a micro size. This example includes both compact-length 13-round and extended 15-round magazines, giving the choice between minimal height and maximum capacity.
The 3.18 in match-grade stainless barrel features 5R rifling with a 1:10 twist, supporting accuracy while minimizing fouling. The slide rides with an external extractor and lightening cuts, and it wears Kimber’s KimPro II finish, as does the aluminum-alloy frame.
Ergonomics are enhanced by a textured frontstrap and backstrap, an undercut trigger guard, and textured molded grip panels. The flat-faced trigger promotes a consistent press, while the rowel-style hammer and thumb safety support the single-action, hammer-fired platform.
For sighting, the pistol retains fixed iron sights: a green fiber-optic front and a black rear notch. The slide is optics-ready on the RMSc footprint and comes with a two-screw cover plate installed, offering flexibility for those who want to add a micro red dot.
Manufactured in the USA and introduced in 2024, this CDS9 Classic OR combines a modern 1911-based action with micro-compact dimensions and practical features, all finished in KimPro II.
