This original XD-M (pre-Elite) 5.25 Competition Series pistol in .45 ACP features a long slide with a top lightening cut, a 5.25-inch match-grade hammer-forged barrel with a Melonite finish, and fully adjustable target sights. It includes an ambidextrous magazine release and the XD-M interchangeable backstrap system. Manufactured by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported by Springfield Armory, this discontinued variant is a well-equipped competition configuration with clear, practical upgrades.

The XD-M 5.25 Competition Series pairs a forged steel slide with a black Melonite finish and a long-slide profile featuring a top lightening window. The 5.25-inch match-grade, hammer-forged barrel also wears a Melonite finish and is cut with a 1:16 twist for .45 ACP.
Its striker-fired, short-recoil, locked-breech action uses a one-piece full-length guide rod. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation, and the extended sight radius complements the competition-oriented layout.
Targeting features include a red fiber-optic front sight and a fully adjustable target rear sight. Controls are straightforward and practical, with an ambidextrous magazine release and the XD-M safety suite: grip safety, trigger safety, firing pin block, and a loaded-chamber indicator.
The full-size black polymer frame provides the XD-M textured grip with interchangeable backstraps for fit tuning. An accessory rail with three slots is molded into the dust cover. Stated capacity is 13+1 in .45 ACP.
