Product Description

Savage Arms Model 99 .300 Savage Lever Action Rifle, 24 Inch Barrel, 1960 Production

This 1960 Savage Model 99 is a classic hammerless lever action chambered in .300 Savage with a 24-inch round steel barrel. It features the top-eject action with an internal rotary magazine and visible brass rotor, a Chicopee Falls barrel address from the factory transition period, and blued steel construction with a hardwood stock. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases, and the lever retains visible case-hardening colors. Overall condition is very good with an excellent, mirror-bright bore.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.

Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.

Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Details: There are minimal markings from previous handling and use.

    What's Included

The Model 99’s hammerless lever action and top-eject design are paired with an internal rotary magazine and visible brass rotor, delivering a smooth, distinctive operation with a stated 4+1 capacity. The lever shows attractive, visible case-hardening colors that complement the blued steel receiver and barrel.

The 24-inch round steel barrel is set up with practical open sights: a ramped front blade and an adjustable rear barrel sight with elevator. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases should the next owner choose to mount optics.

Stock furniture is hardwood with a straight comb and straight grip, uncheckered, and finished with a steel serrated shotgun-style buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches, offering a traditional fit that balances the rifle well.

Markings include "HI-PRESSURE STEEL – PROOF TESTED" and the lever-boss date code "L," confirming 1960 production. The barrel carries the Chicopee Falls address from the factory transition period, and the rifle is made in the USA.
