Built on the S&W X-Frame, the 460XVR (X-treme Velocity Revolver) is configured with a 14-inch heavy-profile stainless barrel for stability and velocity. The barrel is fluted to shave weight, finished with a recessed crown, and capped by a large multi-port muzzle brake/compensator secured with screws to help manage the powerful .460 S&W Magnum.
The 5-shot unfluted cylinder, stainless frame, and stainless cylinder/receiver components wear a satin/brushed stainless finish. Controls include a smooth-face trigger and an exposed hammer with a checkered spur, and the action is double-action/single-action for flexible operation.
The 460XVR line employs gain-twist rifling, and this configuration includes a fully adjustable rear sight. An integral Picatinny/Weaver rail on the barrel shroud provides a solid mounting surface for compatible optics or accessories as desired.
Chambered in .460 S&W Magnum, this platform also accepts .454 Casull and .45 Colt, adding useful versatility to the revolver. Capacity is 5 rounds, and the overall length is approximately 21.5 inches for the 14-inch variant. Factory markings observed include “460 S&W MAGNUM” and “PERFORMANCE CENTER.”
