The PT 92 AF configuration pairs a DA/SA, hammer-fired system with a short-recoil, locked-breech design that uses a falling locking block. The open-top slide is the classic 92 pattern, and the barrel measures 5 inches for a full-size sight radius in 9mm Luger.
The AF variant incorporates a firing pin block and ambidextrous, frame-mounted manual safety levers with red fire dots, and it does not include a decocker. Sighting is straightforward with fixed sights: an integral front blade with a white dot and a fixed rear notch.
The frame and receiver are aluminum alloy with a non-railed dustcover. Details include an external spurred hammer, a squared, serrated trigger guard, and front and rear grip-strap serrations. Model markings on the slide read "PT 92 AF 9mm para."
