The Model 336C configuration here is a classic carbine pattern with two barrel bands and a full-length tubular magazine, chambered in .35 Remington. It retains the rounded lever loop and a gold-colored trigger, paired with a solid, flat-top receiver and side ejection.
The 20-inch Micro-Groove barrel is matched with iron sights: a hooded ramped bead up front and an adjustable folding rear leaf with elevator. This setup provides a traditional sighting arrangement in addition to the mounted optic.
This example is from 1980 and was manufactured at Marlin’s North Haven, Connecticut facility. The barrel bears the circled JM proof. It is the pre–cross-bolt safety configuration.
The hardwood stock features a pistol-grip profile with a Monte Carlo comb and smooth, uncheckered surfaces. It is finished with a black buttplate and white line spacer. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches. A Bushnell Sharpshooter scope is installed using Weaver rings on a mounted base.
