This Smith & Wesson M&P9 Shield in 9mm Luger is the no-thumb-safety configuration with a micro single-stack profile and a 3.1 in stainless steel barrel. It features an installed Apex flat-faced safety trigger and comes with both 7- and 8-round factory magazines. The stainless steel slide and barrel have a durable Armornite/Melonite protective finish, and the pistol includes steel three-dot sights set in dovetails.

The trigger has been upgraded to a flat faced safety trigger from Apex, providing a flat-faced profile with an integrated safety blade. This installed unit is the red version, offering a distinct visual contrast and a clean, consistent press.
The slide is stainless steel with a matte black Armornite/Melonite finish and rear-only wavy cocking serrations; there are no front serrations. The barrel hood is marked "9MM." The left side of the slide is marked "M&P 9 SHIELD," and the right side reads "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A." along with "CAUTION - CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED."
Steel three-dot sights are drift-adjustable and set in dovetails (white-dot front, two-dot rear). The polymer frame is black with a pebble texture and contains an embedded stainless-steel chassis. This Shield is a single-stack design with no accessory rail, keeping the profile slim.
It is striker-fired and uses the S&W sear-deactivation system, allowing disassembly without pulling the trigger. The factory box label shows SKU 180021 and lists a 3.125 in barrel, and the serial number on the pistol matches the factory box label.
