This rare Remington Defense M24 comes from the EuroOptic/Army Sniper Association collaboration, a limited run of approximately 500 rifles produced in 2019–2020. It is an authentic, roll-marked M24 with the barrel marked "Remington MODEL 700 M24." The ASA1987 serial theme and a bolt handle stamped "0019" matching the serial suffix underscore the run’s commemorative character, and $100 from each rifle was donated to the Army Sniper Association.
The rifle is built on a Remington 700 long action chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO. Its 24-inch heavy 416 stainless steel barrel features 5R rifling with a 1:11.25 twist and a recessed crown, delivering the M24 pattern’s recognized barrel spec. The barrel is tapped near the muzzle for a front sight base, and the overall finish is matte black.
The stock is an HS Precision M24-pattern composite unit with an aluminum bedding block and a spacer-adjustable butt. The length of pull is noted as 12 inches, and the stock has textured surfaces with a Remington-branded recoil pad. The rifle uses an internal 5-round box magazine with a hinged floorplate, a two-position safety at the rear right of the receiver, and Remington 700-type trigger and bottom metal.
Optics support is a standout feature: this M24 is fitted with the rare McCann MIRS rail that bridges the receiver to the forend, intended to mount clip-on night-vision/aiming devices ahead of a day optic. Leupold scope rings are installed, and the rifle includes a Harris bipod, a leather M1907-style sling, and a strap-on cheek riser. The rifle has no sights installed.
