The Ilion, NY rollmark on the lower receiver places this XM15-E2S in the 2011–2014 era of Bushmaster production. The rifle uses aluminum receivers and the standard AR-15 control layout, including a manual safety, forward assist, brass deflector, and ejection port cover. It feeds from STANAG/AR-pattern magazines with a 30+1 capacity.
The 16-inch barrel is marked 1/7 5.56 NATO and carries HP MP proof marks. It uses a carbine-length gas system and a three-prong, open-ended flash hider. The barrel is threaded, and the bolt is a 7-lug rotating design consistent with the platform.
The upper is a flat-top A3 with a T-marked Picatinny rail for mounting sights. A railed clamp-on gas block with an integral sling loop is installed, and there is no front sight installed. A polymer flip-up rear sight is included and mounted.
This rifle is customized with FDE Magpul furniture: an STR adjustable stock, a Magpul MOE carbine-length handguard, and a Magpul pistol grip. A polymer angled foregrip is installed on the handguard. A polymer-bodied weapon light is mounted at the 11 o'clock position, and a receiver endplate sling loop is fitted for sling attachment.
