This Sig Sauer MCX Virtus pistol pairs an 11.5-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel with a short-stroke gas piston system and an adjustable gas regulator. It features a bufferless internal recoil system with a rear 1913 interface and folding hinge, a free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard with a continuous top rail, and ambidextrous controls throughout. The hard-anodized matte gray finish and U.S. manufacture round out a proven, modular platform.

The MCX Virtus operating system is a short-stroke gas piston with an adjustable gas regulator. It is designed to run clean and reliably while offering quick tuning for varying conditions and loads. The bufferless internal recoil assembly allows the rear 1913 rail and hinge to support a side-folding brace without a receiver extension.
The 11.5-inch barrel is cold-hammer-forged and threaded, capped with a three-prong flash hider. This barrel length keeps the platform compact while maintaining 5.56 NATO performance. A free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard and a continuous top Picatinny rail offer solid mounting options along the forend and upper.
Controls are ambidextrous, including the selector, magazine and bolt controls, and the charging handle latch. A polymer pistol grip with the SIG SAUER logo provides a consistent interface, and a QD sling socket on the handguard adds carry flexibility. The pistol accepts STANAG/AR-15 pattern magazines and ships with two 30-round Magpul PMAG GEN M3 magazines.
The receiver set is aluminum alloy with a hard-anodized matte gray finish. Markings include the "VIRTUS" upper plate, "SIG MCX MULTI-CALIBER" rollmark, and "SIG SAUER, INC., NEWINGTON, NH USA." A low-profile rear folding sight is installed, with no front sight installed from the factory on this configuration.
