This revolver is patterned after the Remington New Model Army and configured as a single-action percussion, six-shot cap-and-ball in .44 caliber. It uses an under-barrel hinged loading lever and has a case-colored hammer.
The barrel is an 8-inch octagonal steel tube with excellent rifling. The cylinder is steel and blued, matching the blued barrel for a traditional look against the brass frame and receiver.
Sighting is straightforward with a fixed front blade and an integral top-strap rear notch. Two-piece hardwood grips complete the classic profile.
Markings include Italian proof marks (PN with star), a boxed two-letter Italian date code, A.S.M. – BLACK POWDER ONLY MADE IN ITALY, a CVA logo on the frame, and CONNECTICUT VALLEY ARMS INC. on the barrel. The revolver was manufactured by Armi San Marco and imported by Connecticut Valley Arms (CVA) in Italy.
