This SIG716 G2 DMR uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a 2-position adjustable gas regulator. It accepts SR-25 pattern magazines and incorporates a right-side bolt/hold-open control for efficient manipulation. A paddle-style magazine release, ambidextrous safety, and an ambidextrous extended charging handle support varied shooting positions and preferences.
The 18" carbon steel barrel is threaded 5/8x24 with a muzzle brake installed. Its 1:8 twist is matched to 6.5 Creedmoor projectiles, and the bore presents a clean, mirror finish with sharp rifling. The free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard and two-stage match trigger contribute to a stable, consistent shooting setup.
