Built on the 680-series low-profile action, this 687 Ultralight uses an Ergal aluminum alloy receiver with an electroless-nickel finish for a lively feel and durability. The breech face is reinforced with titanium, adding wear resistance where it matters.
The 26 in Excelsior high-strength alloy steel barrels are chambered for 2-3/4 in shells and are threaded for flush Mobilchoke-pattern tubes. A narrow, solid, checkered rib and a single brass front bead provide a clean sighting plane.
Controls are straightforward and familiar: a top-tang safety with integral barrel selector, automatic ejectors, and a single-selective, gold-plated trigger. The shotgun retains Beretta’s factory engraving with a game-bird scene on the receiver and scrollwork over the fences, top lever, trigger plate, and forend iron.
The gloss-finished walnut stock features checkering and a pistol grip. A Kick-EEZ recoil pad is installed, and length of pull measures 13.5 in. The included box is not original; however, it has foam cutouts fitted for this shotgun.
Markings include Made in Italy and a U.S. import mark, along with EXCELSIOR - HIGH STRENGTH ALLOYED STEEL, KG1.300, 18.3, and CAM. 70. Matching serial information was observed on components.
