The Tavor 7 uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a closed rotating bolt and a 4-position adjustable gas regulator (Normal/Adverse/Suppressed/Off). This setup allows the rifle to be tuned across a wide range of ammunition and conditions while maintaining the bullpup’s compact footprint.
Built around a reinforced polymer monocoque chassis, the rifle is finished in Flat Dark Earth and includes QD sling cups fore and aft on both sides. Overall length is 26.75 inches with an approximate unloaded weight of 9.0 lb and a 16.5 inch length of pull.
The 16.5 inch CrMoV barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome lined for durability and corrosion resistance. It is threaded 5/8x24 and cut with a 1:12 RH twist. The handguard is a ventilated polymer fore-end.
Controls are fully ambidextrous with reversible ejection and a reversible, non-reciprocating charging handle (configured on the left). It feeds from SR-25/LR-308 pattern magazines and includes a full-length T-marked MIL-STD-1913 top rail with a short 6 o’clock accessory rail section. Markings include a P proof/inspection mark on the barrel, MADE IN ISRAEL on the barrel, and IWI US – Middletown, PA.
