The TRP Tactical is a Government-size 5" non-railed variant built on a steel frame with a two-tone finish. Distinctive roll marks include MODEL 1911-A1 / CAL .45 on the slide, TRP at the rear of the slide, TACTICAL on the dust cover, and SPRINGFIELD ARMORY with the crossed-cannons crest.
The slide uses front and rear cocking serrations and a lowered/relieved ejection port for smooth manipulation and ejection. Sights are dovetailed 3-dot iron sights with a low-profile rear, offering a clean, interference-free sight picture.
The bushing-type barrel uses a standard muzzle bushing for classic 1911 lockup. Controls and contact surfaces are well-appointed: an ambidextrous thumb safety, beavertail grip safety with memory pad, skeletonized commander-style hammer, and a skeletonized three-hole trigger.
Grip and reload features include a flared magazine well, a checkered front strap, and a flat, checkered mainspring housing, paired with checkered wood double-diamond grips. Capacity is 8+1, and the pistol operates on the single-action 1911 platform.
