This Government-length 1911 is built on a forged carbon-steel frame with a forged slide and a forged/machined, button-rifled barrel. The manufacturing approach emphasizes durability, with HBM (Hardened Before Machined) indicated by the manufacturer. The gray Cerakote finish is chosen to echo the classic service look while providing modern protection.
True to A1 form, it includes the frame relief cuts behind the trigger, an arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop, a short serrated trigger, and a spur hammer. Controls remain GI-correct with a single-sided thumb safety and a grip safety. The slide is marked "MODEL 1911A1 U.S. ARMY" and uses rear-only vertical serrations with a GI ejection port, staying faithful to the period pattern.
Sights are fixed GI-style with a narrow blade front and a small square-notch rear, offering the traditional sight picture expected on an A1-pattern pistol. Capacity is 7+1 and it uses standard 1911 magazines. The pistol bears the SDS KNOXVILLE TN importer mark, and the serial noted on the frame matches the factory box label.
This example is configured with aftermarket wraparound rubber finger-groove grip panels installed for a secure hold, and it includes the original brown checkered plastic panels for a classic look. The result is a Series 70-internals, GI-style 1911 that blends authentic features with modern materials. Made in Turkey and imported by SDS, it captures the essence of the U.S. service pattern with reliable construction.
