The Model 65-6 is a stainless K-frame, fixed-sight duty revolver chambered in .357 Magnum with a six-shot fluted cylinder. This example wears a consistent brushed stainless finish across the frame, cylinder, and 4-inch heavy barrel with a short ejector-rod shroud (partial underlug). It accepts .38 Special in its .357 Magnum chambers.
As a 65-6, it incorporates the frame-mounted firing pin and MIM hammer associated with this engineering change, and it remains a pre-lock configuration with no internal key lock. The action is double-action/single-action with an external spur hammer.
The fixed-sight setup consists of a ramped, serrated integral front sight and a topstrap groove/notch rear sight. This straightforward arrangement is durable and well-suited to the revolver’s duty-oriented configuration.
Factory-style markings include MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS. on the frame with the S&W trade-mark logo on the right sideplate. The barrel is marked "S.&W. .357 MAGNUM" and "SMITH & WESSON," and the yoke cut is marked 65-6.
Aftermarket wrap-around rubber grips with finger grooves are installed for a secure, hand-filling hold.
