Built at Izhmash in Russia, this Saiga-308-1 uses the long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt. The stamped steel receiver bears Russian proof and acceptance marks along with the RAAC Scottsburg IN import mark, identifying it as a pre-2014 RAAC import.
The rifle is chambered in .308 Winchester (7.62×51) and has a 16.3-inch threaded barrel. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The front sight is an adjustable post on a hoodless front sight block; the AK tangent rear sight leaf is provided separately.
Furniture is laminated wood, including matching handguards and a buttstock with a steel buttplate and trapdoor. A sling swivel is mounted at the toe. The grip is a black polymer AK-pattern pistol grip, and length of pull measures 12.75 inches.
A TAPCO G2 trigger is installed, providing a clean, familiar AK-pattern control layout with standard magazine release and manual safety. Selector markings are "S" and "F" on the left side.
The rifle uses proprietary Saiga .308 magazines and includes three 25-round polymer examples. The receiver markings include "SAIGA-308-1" and ".308 Win / 7.62×51," consistent with factory rollmarks from this import era.
