The 16-inch M4-profile barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2 flash suppressor. It features a 1:7 twist and an M4 feed-ramp barrel extension for reliable feeding. The barrel carries Colt proof and inspection marks and is roll-marked '5.56 NATO 1/7.'
The upper receiver is a flat-top with a Picatinny rail, forward assist, and ejection-port cover. Sights include a fixed A-frame, F-marked front sight base and a polymer flip-up aperture rear sight. A bayonet lug and front sling swivel are present.
This rifle uses Colt's direct-impingement system with a carbine-length gas system. Capacity is 30+1 rounds of 5.56mm NATO. A manual safety is fitted.
Factory Magpul MOE furniture includes the carbine collapsible stock, carbine-length handguard, and pistol grip, all in durable polymer. The receiver has a black anodized finish with an overall black color scheme.
