This Hawken follows the traditional side-lock pattern with a percussion snail/bolster and a clean-out screw for straightforward maintenance. The hooked breech and wedge-key barrel retention with an oval brass escutcheon reflect classic field-serviceable design.
The rifle wears a 28-inch octagonal blued barrel with a 1:48 twist and open sights. Up front is a fixed blade; the rear is an adjustable open sight with windage and elevation screws for precise zeroing.
The walnut half-stock is configured for right-hand use and includes a beavertail cheekpiece and a brass patchbox. Brass furniture throughout—crescent buttplate, trigger guard with finger spur, nosecap, and ramrod thimbles—completes the traditional look. Length of pull is 14.25 inches.
Controls include double set, adjustable triggers for fine shot release. The lock and hammer are color casehardened and factory scroll-engraved. Barrel markings read: "THOMPSON | CENTER ARMS • ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE • CAL 50." This is a modern reproduction of the Hawken style, made in the United States.
