Its operating system is a hybrid blowback/locked-breech design. The pistol uses dual opposing extractors and captive co-axial recoil springs with a urethane buffer, and it field strips with a single pin.
Construction includes 4140 steel for the slide and barrel with a polymer slide cover secured by four top screws. The internal frame is 7075 aluminum, and the grip/cover is glass-reinforced nylon (Zytel) with Kel-Tec's waffle texture. The frame wears an OD Green factory finish with a black slide cover.
Controls are straightforward: an ambidextrous manual thumb safety and a single-action trigger. Sights are fixed fiber-optic 3-dot with a green front and orange two-dot rear. An integral accessory rail is molded into the frame. PMR-30 model markings and Cocoa, FL USA maker marks are present.
