This German-made PPQ Classic (M1) is an early U.S. import carrying the Smith & Wesson Springfield MA roll-mark and Ulm “BB” 2011 date code. The pistol pairs Walther’s corrosion-resistant Tenifer QPQ finish with the discontinued paddle-style magazine release, giving collectors and shooters a hard-to-find variant of the PPQ line. A 4-inch polygonal-rifled barrel, fully ambidextrous controls, and the Quick-Defense trigger system round out a feature set focused on speed, reliability, and ergonomic versatility.

Introduced in 2011, the PPQ Classic (often called the “M1”) is the only PPQ variant sold in the U.S. with Walther’s original ambidextrous paddle magazine release. That feature, now discontinued stateside, allows rapid mag changes without altering grip and is fully accessible from either side of the trigger guard.
This pistol wears Walther’s Tenifer QPQ finish on both slide and receiver steel components. The treatment provides excellent corrosion and wear resistance while maintaining a low-glare appearance ideal for duty or range use.
The Quick-Defense trigger breaks at roughly 5.6 lb and resets in just 0.1 in., giving the shooter rapid, repeatable follow-up shots. Combined with forward slide serrations and drift-adjustable 3-dot polymer sights, the PPQ offers intuitive handling out of the box.
Inside the 4-inch steel barrel, polygonal rifling optimizes gas seal and ease of cleaning. Paired with the 10+1 capacity in .40 S&W, the pistol delivers a balance of controllable recoil and duty-grade firepower.
The glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame features interchangeable back-straps, an integral Picatinny rail, and fully ambidextrous slide stop levers, making the platform adaptable to a wide range of hand sizes and carry preferences.
