The 336CS uses Marlin’s solid, flat-top, side-eject receiver with a round bolt and a right-side loading gate, making it easy to top-mount optics. The receiver top is drilled and tapped, and this rifle comes with a one-piece scope base already installed.
Its 20-inch steel barrel features Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling, paired here with a .30-30 chambering and a 6-round, full-length tubular magazine secured by two barrel bands. A ramped front sight base is present.
The rifle retains a blued finish on both the receiver and barrel. Controls include the cross-bolt safety with a red indicator ring. Operation is classic lever-action, with the smooth cycling the 336 series is known for.
The hardwood stock and matching forearm are uncheckered with a pistol-grip profile. A black Marlin hard buttplate with a white line spacer and sling swivel studs complete the setup. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
Production dates to 1986 in North Haven, CT, USA, and the barrel bears the oval JM proof mark on the shoulder.
