The EMP short-action 1911 architecture is scaled for 9mm, giving this micro-size pistol a compact footprint with 10+1 capacity. It uses a forged stainless slide and a forged aluminum-alloy frame finished in black hardcoat anodize for a durable two-tone configuration.
Its 3 inch forged stainless steel barrel is match-grade with a bull profile and a fully supported ramp. A dual captive recoil spring paired with a full-length guide rod manages the locked-breech, recoil-operated single-action system.
Sight regulation comes from low-profile tritium 3-dot sights, with a dovetailed front and a Trijicon-marked dovetailed rear. The slide includes rear serrations and a lowered and flared ejection port.
Controls and carry features include a grip safety and a thumb safety, a skeletonized 3-hole trigger, and a skeletonized Commander-style hammer. Checkered wood double-diamond grip panels with Springfield Armory medallions provide a classic 1911 feel. The frame is marked "SPRINGFIELD INC., GENESEO IL USA," and the slide is marked "EMP CAL 9mm" and "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY." Made in the USA.
