The 77R Standard configuration features a push-feed bolt with a plunger ejector and an external claw extractor. The rifle incorporates an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate and a 4-round capacity, providing quick unloading when needed. A factory adjustable trigger and a tang-mounted sliding safety round out the action’s user-focused controls.
The receiver is investment-cast steel and uses Ruger’s angled front guard screw bedding system. This design helps secure the action in the stock. The rifle was manufactured in 1990 (MFD 1990) and carries Southport, Conn. U.S.A. rollmarks and a Ruger proof mark on the barrel.
The 24-inch sporter-profile barrel is blued steel, and the rifle is set up with integral Ruger scope-ring bases and no iron sights. The included Ruger-style rings allow the buyer to mount an optic directly to the integral bases.
The walnut stock has point-pattern checkering, a right-hand cheekpiece, a Ruger grip-cap medallion, and an aluminum buttplate with the Ruger crest. Sling swivel studs are installed. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
