The Lite Rack system uses a reduced recoil spring, refined slide serrations, and pronounced rear cocking ears to make charging the pistol easier. The slide also features lightening cuts. The slide and barrel are through-hardened alloy steel with a black-oxide (blued) finish.
This Security-series pistol uses an internal hammer-fired, single-action, locked-breech, recoil-operated system with Ruger Secure Action trigger features. Safety features include a manual thumb safety and a trigger safety.
Sights are straightforward and visible: a green fiber-optic front blade in a dovetail and a black drift-adjustable square-notch rear, also dovetailed. Controls include a left-side push-button magazine release. The pistol will fire with the magazine removed; there is no magazine disconnect.
The compact grip frame is glass-filled nylon with a chassis and textured black polymer panels bearing the Ruger phoenix logo. An integral multi-slot accessory rail is molded into the frame.
