It features an American walnut stock with brass furniture and a scroll-engraved, color case-hardened lockplate. The rifle includes adjustable open sights, a 1:48 twist rate, and double-set triggers in an S-shaped brass guard. The barrel is roll-marked with the Rochester, New Hampshire address.

The 28-inch blued octagonal barrel uses a hooked breech, a hallmark of the Hawken pattern that facilitates barrel removal. The barrel is roll-marked: "THOMPSON | CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE .50 CAL. HAWKEN." The 1:48 twist supports the rifle's .50 caliber configuration.
The flintlock ignition features leather-lined cock jaws, frizzen, and pan, paired with a color case-hardened lockplate. The lockplate carries factory scroll engraving that complements the rifle's traditional styling.
An American walnut stock with a raised cheekpiece anchors the build. Brass furniture includes the patchbox, crescent buttplate, nose cap, ramrod thimbles, and wedge escutcheons. The S-shaped brass trigger guard houses double-set triggers.
Sighting is handled by an adjustable open rear sight and a dovetailed front blade. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches. As a single-shot muzzleloader, overall length is typically about 45.25 inches with a weight of about 8.5 lb.
