What's Included
- Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield 9mm pistol
- One factory S&W 7-round single-stack steel magazine with finger-rest baseplate
Built as a first-generation M&P Shield (not M2.0 or Plus), this model delivers the slim, single-stack 9mm format that defined the line when it was introduced in 2012. It uses a striker-fired, semi-automatic action with a left-side magazine release and a no-thumb-safety layout. Capacity is 7+1 with the included magazine.
The slide and barrel are stainless steel treated with a matte black Melonite/Armornite finish for durability. The polymer frame incorporates an embedded stainless-steel chassis for rigidity. Rear slide serrations with a scalloped pattern aid in manipulation. This pistol is made in the USA.
Steel 3-dot sights are dovetailed front and rear, with a drift-adjustable rear. Safety features include a hinged trigger safety and internal striker block. S&W’s sear-deactivation lever enables takedown without pressing the trigger. The frame is marked "CAUTION—CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED," indicating no magazine disconnect.
Dimensions support discreet carry: approximately 6.1 inches in overall length, 4.6 inches in height, and 0.95 inch in width, with an unloaded weight around 19.0 ounces. The 3.1-inch barrel balances concealability with practical performance. This first-gen configuration does not include an accessory rail.
