What’s Included
- F.lli Pietta Model 1860 Army .44 percussion revolver
Built by F.lli Pietta as a faithful reproduction of the Colt Model 1860 Army, this revolver retains the design hallmarks that defined the original service sidearm. It is made in Italy and bears Italian proof marks including PN, Gardone proof symbols, the FAP maker’s logo, and the Navy Arms Co. Ridgefield, N.J. import mark.
The six-shot, non-fluted cylinder carries a factory roll-engraved naval battle scene, a signature visual detail of the pattern. Safety pins are set between chambers, and the single-action percussion mechanism follows the traditional cap-and-ball layout.
An 8-inch round steel barrel is secured with a wedge and paired with a creeping loading lever and plunger latch for steady seating of projectiles. Sighting is straightforward and period-correct with a fixed brass blade front and a notch in the hammer for the rear.
Materials and finishes are classic and durable: a color case-hardened steel frame; blued steel barrel and cylinder; brass trigger guard; blued steel backstrap; and a one-piece glossy hardwood grip. The overall presentation is cohesive and true to the original style while benefiting from modern Italian manufacture.
