The optics-ready slide features an optic cut and front and rear cocking serrations. Steel, drift-adjustable sights remain in place with an orange-outlined front dot marked TG-H3 and a low-profile rear notch for a clean sight picture with or without the red dot.
Construction is robust and corrosion resistant: both the 3.1 in barrel and the slide are stainless steel with a black Armornite finish. The polymer frame uses a micro-stippled texture for secure purchase while maintaining a compact profile in the micro size class.
The striker-fired action uses a flat-faced trigger with an integral safety blade. Safety features include a trigger safety, and this configuration omits the manual thumb safety by design.
Capacity is 10+1 with the included flush-fit factory steel magazine. Slide, chamber, and frame markings include "M&P 9 SHIELD PLUS," "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA USA," "9MM," and "CAUTION–CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED." The Shield Plus family and its optics-ready variant were introduced in 2021 and this USA-made example reflects that recent release.
