Product Description

    Remington Model 725 BDL .270 Win Bolt-Action Rifle, 22 in Barrel, 1960 Production, Blued/Walnut

Remington's Model 725 BDL is a short-run, transitional bolt-action made from 1958 to 1961 in approximately 16,600 units. This example was manufactured in July 1960, confirmed by the barrel date code OG, and retains its classic sporting configuration with a blued finish, walnut stock, and open sights. It features a two-lug rotating bolt, internal box magazine with hinged floorplate, and a three-position wing safety.

Bore Overall Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: The rifle presents scratches and blemishes on exterior surfaces. The bore shows a bright, shiny appearance. Light spots of pitting are present on some metal areas.

    What's Included

    • Detachable sling swivels (installed)

Produced in relatively limited numbers, the Model 725 marked Remington's step between earlier post-war designs and what would become the Model 700. This BDL variant from July 1960 carries the OG barrel date code and inspector markings at the barrel shank, offering clear, period-correct identifiers for the model and era.

The rifle is chambered in .270 Win with a 22 in sporter barrel and open sights: a ramped front bead and an adjustable rear leaf with elevator. Its action uses a two-lug rotating bolt and an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, paired with a three-position wing safety.

The walnut stock showcases Remington's sporting style of the time with a Monte Carlo comb, cheekpiece, and cut checkering. Details include an inletted Remington grip-cap medallion, a checkered aluminum Remington-marked buttplate, and QD sling swivel bases. Detachable swivels are installed.

The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases, with filler screws installed. The blued metalwork, OG barrel date code, and U.S. manufacture round out a configuration that reflects the original 725 specification and period features.
