What’s Included
- DWM Gewehr 98 8mm Mauser bolt-action rifle
Manufactured by DWM in Germany, this Gewehr 98 bears the "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN- UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN, BERLIN." marking. The receiver and stock are configured for the Lange Visier rear sight, a hallmark of early Gewehr 98 rifles, with the sight base inlet into the stock.
All observable numbers match. A matching serial with an "A" prefix is observed on the bolt handle root, receiver, and bottom metal, and the floorplate is stamped "44". This consistency supports the rifle's correctness across its major components.
Chambered in 8mm Mauser, the rifle uses a fixed internal 5-round box magazine and a straight bolt handle with a round knob. The nose cap/front band includes a bayonet lug and a channel for a cleaning rod. The cleaning rod is not present.
The rifle retains its classic military configuration: a 29.3-inch barrel, full-length hardwood stock, steel buttplate, and sling swivels. Length of pull measures approximately 13.0 inches, and the receiver is steel.
Sighting is via iron sights with an unhooded barleycorn front blade on a block and the Lange Visier ("roller-coaster") tangent rear sight. The rear sight’s base is inletted into the stock, as correct for this pattern.
