The takedown barrel/forend assembly locks in place with a knurled ring, allowing quick separation for transport or cleaning. The 6.5 inch cold hammer-forged chrome-moly steel barrel is threaded 1/2x28 and marked 9MM LUGER, pairing durability with common muzzle-device compatibility.
Ruger's dead-blow blowback system uses a tungsten weight to help moderate bolt movement. Controls are reversible: the charging handle and magazine release can be swapped to either side. Interchangeable magazine wells accept Ruger SR-/Security-9 and Glock double-stack 9mm magazines, offering flexibility in magazine selection.
The receiver is aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish, and the frame is glass-filled polymer. An M-LOK aluminum handguard and full-length top Picatinny rail provide mounting space for accessories. The grip is an AR-pattern polymer pistol grip.
