The MRAD chassis is built around a monolithic 7000-series aluminum upper with an earth-tone/brown finish. The receiver is marked "MRAD MULTI-ROLE ADAPTIVE DESIGN," "BARRETT FIREARMS MFG., INC., MURFREESBORO, TN USA," "MULTI-CALIBER," and "MODEL: MRAD," and features a recessed ejection port with a raised BARRETT logo. A large round bolt knob provides confident manipulation.
The 26-inch heavy-profile, fluted barrel uses a 1:9.4 twist and is capped with a 2-port muzzle brake. Barrett's user-swappable quick-change barrel system is present. A long free-float handguard with oval slots maintains barrel clearance and includes a small forward-right Picatinny segment plus a long 6 o'clock accessory rail.
On top, a full-length T-marked Picatinny rail with an integrated 10 MIL incline spans approximately 21.75 inches for extensive mounting space. The right-folding skeletonized chassis stock offers tool-less cheek height and LOP adjustments, QD sling cups, a thick buttpad, and a rear accessory (toe) rail. Length of pull is set at 13.5 inches.
The rifle employs a match trigger housed in a removable module and a thumb safety with F/S markings. It feeds from a detachable box magazine, providing a 5+1 capacity in .338 Lapua. A MAGPUL pistol grip and the earth-tone/brown stock and receiver complete the setup.
