The pistol uses a recoil-operated, double-action/single-action system. Controls include a slide-mounted safety/decocker with a red fire indicator dot, a left-side magazine release, and a left-side slide stop. It also features an external extractor and a spurred hammer.
Ergonomics are supported by a checkered front strap and a rounded beavertail. The one-piece wraparound synthetic grip with S&W medallion provides a secure hold and classic factory styling.
