The push-feed bolt uses dual opposed locking lugs, a plunger ejector, and a sliding extractor. The bright-polished bolt body is marked "MOSSBERG." The receiver is drilled and tapped and fitted with two-piece Weaver-style bases and matching rings. There are no factory iron sights.
Controls are straightforward with a manual safety lever and a conventional curved trigger. This rifle features the early, non-adjustable (pre-LBA) trigger configuration. The stock is black synthetic with molded-in checkering and a rubber buttpad, paired with a 13.0 length of pull.
The blind internal magazine holds four rounds of .243 Winchester. The metal wears a matte blued finish, and the rollmark reads "MOSSBERG ATR CALIBER 243 WIN. — NORTH HAVEN, CT, U.S.A." It is made in the United States.
