The Archon Firearms Type B Gen 2 stands out with its AF-Speedlock non-tilting barrel system and very low bore axis, paired with a nitrided 5 in threaded barrel and an optics-cut slide. Built around a steel monocoque chassis with a modular polymer grip shell, this Germany-made pistol blends robust construction with modern features, and it includes a factory spare non-threaded barrel and two magazines.

The Type B Gen 2 uses Archon’s AF-Speedlock, a non-tilting barrel system with an approximate 12 mm bore axis. This design is paired with a steel monocoque internal frame and a modular polymer grip shell, creating a rigid structure with user-configurable ergonomics.
The installed 5.0 in nitrided barrel is threaded 1/2x28 with 6-groove, 1:10 RH rifling, and the pistol ships with a factory 4.3 in non-threaded spare barrel. The slide features front and rear diagonal serrations and beveled top edges for confident manipulation.
The slide is optics-cut with a cover plate installed and factory adapter options for RMR, RMS, or ACRO footprints. Sights use Glock-pattern dovetails and come with a red fiber-optic front and a plain serrated black rear.
Controls and features include a striker-fired action with a flat-faced trigger and integral safety tab, a trigger safety, and a full-length Picatinny accessory rail with four slots. Aggressive grip texture, indexing pads, interchangeable backstraps, and an included flared magwell/grip-length adapter round out the setup.
Chambered in 9mm Luger with a stated capacity of 17+1, this pistol carries DE CIP Germany proof marks and 9x19 chamber markings. Approximate overall length is 8.4 in with the 5.0 in threaded barrel. U.S. distribution is by PTR Industries beginning in 2024.
