The stamped AKM-pattern receiver uses a 1 mm shell with magazine-well dimples and domed rivets, paired with a ribbed sheet-metal top cover. It retains the standard long-stroke gas system and a manual safety selector with selector markings "S A F." Markings indicate domestic manufacture in West Columbia, South Carolina.
The GF3 series upgrades are central to this rifle: the front trunnion, bolt, and bolt carrier are hammer-forged. This generation reflects PSA's reinforced components approach within the AKM pattern while maintaining compatibility with standard AK features.
The 16-inch barrel is 4150 steel and nitride treated, with a 1:9.5 twist rate. The muzzle is threaded M14x1 LH and fitted with an AKM-style slant compensator. This setup offers a robust, corrosion-resistant bore and the classic AK muzzle device configuration.
Sighting is traditional AK: a hooded front post and a range-adjustable tangent rear sight leaf. A left-side AK optics side rail is installed on the receiver for side-mount interfaces.
Furniture is polymer in an earth-tone green/tan finish, including a fixed stock with a 12.75-inch length of pull, a rear sling swivel, a polymer pistol grip, and a ribbed polymer handguard. Capacity is noted as 30+1. The bolt carrier and receiver display matching GF3 assembly numbers.
