This full-size M&P22 is the German-proofed variant produced by Walther, distinct from the later U.S.-made Compact. Proofs include the CIP "DE" mark, eagle over "N," Ulm antler, and the "BC" two-letter date code indicating a 2012 proof year, along with the "Made in Germany" marking.
The pistol uses a straight blowback, single-action system with an internal hammer and a hinged trigger. Its aluminum-alloy, hard-anodized slide and fixed steel barrel are paired with an internal metal chassis inside the polymer frame for durable construction.
Controls and safety features include an ambidextrous manual thumb safety, a magazine disconnect safety, and a loaded-chamber inspection port. The textured polymer grip sports the S&W medallion for a secure hold.
Sight regulation is straightforward with a dovetailed, drift-adjustable front blade and a click-adjustable rear sight with a windage set-screw. The integral three-slot accessory rail on the dustcover supports common lights or lasers. Capacity is 10+1 with the included factory 10-round magazine.
