Built in Kimber's Custom Shop, the Custom CDP II is the "Custom Defense Package" configuration, combining carry-focused refinements with match-grade components. This full-size 1911 uses a Government-length 5 in match barrel with a bushing and a 1:16 LH twist, set up for dependable accuracy and consistent lockup.
The aluminum alloy frame wears a dark KimPro II finish, paired with a Satin Silver KimPro II slide for a two-tone look. A comprehensive dehorned Carry Melt treatment minimizes sharp edges. The slide includes front and rear cocking serrations, a lowered and flared ejection port, and dovetailed, low-profile 3-dot sights.
Controls and contact surfaces are thoughtfully upgraded: a match-grade skeletonized aluminum trigger, extended left-side thumb safety, and a beavertail grip safety with a memory bump. The front strap is checkered at 30 LPI, the mainspring housing is flat and checkered, and the magazine well is beveled for streamlined reloads. A checkered magazine release and double-diamond rosewood grip panels complete the setup.
At approximately 31 oz empty, the aluminum alloy frame trims weight while maintaining the balance and feel of a full-size 1911. Capacity is 7+1 with standard single-stack magazines.
This NY-era example bears a repeating-digit serial number, a distinctive touch that sets it apart for buyers who appreciate unique numbering. Made in the United States with a Yonkers, NY frame rollmark, it represents the Custom Shop’s CDP II configuration in a classic, full-size format.
