This Model 336 is a late-1970s North Haven production rifle, confirmed as 1979 by Marlin's serial formula. It features the desirable pre–cross-bolt safety configuration with an external hammer and half-cock notch. The side-eject, solid-top receiver is drilled and tapped for optics and currently carries a Simmons 4x scope secured with KWIK-SITE rings on two-piece bases.
The 18.5" Micro-Groove barrel is chambered in .30-30 and paired with a full-length tubular magazine for a 6+1 capacity. Iron sights include a semi-buckhorn rear with elevator and a ramped blade front; the front sight hood is not present. The blued finish and steel receiver reflect the rifle's classic carbine profile and period-correct construction.
Furniture includes a pistol-grip stock with a Monte Carlo-style comb and a Marlin logo buttplate with a white-line spacer. The smooth carbine forend is secured with a barrel band, matching the carbine configuration. Sling swivel studs are fitted, and a padded camo sling with quick-detach swivels is installed. Length of pull measures 13.5".
Details like the gold-colored trigger, clean Micro-Groove bore, and 1970s-era features make this rifle stand out as a well-configured, ready-to-use .30-30 carbine from Marlin's North Haven production period. MFG. 1979.
