The Model L short action pairs with a 3+1 capacity and a detachable 3-round magazine for reliable feeding in .308 Win. Its six locking lugs and approximate 60° bolt throw contribute to a smooth, fast cycling feel, complemented by the signature butter-knife bolt handle. A tang-mounted safety provides straightforward control.
The 20 in hammer-forged barrel shows a visible spiral-forged exterior pattern. Sighting is set up with classic open sights: a hooded ramp front blade and a folding-leaf rear on an island base. The receiver’s integral dovetail scope bases accept the included Austrian-marked 1 in rings.
The walnut stock is configured as a half-stock with a shadow-line Monte Carlo cheekpiece and cut checkering for a secure hold. A ventilated recoil pad and sling studs round out the stock features. Length of pull measures 14.0 in for a comfortable, traditional fit.
Metalwork carries a blued finish, and the rifle bears Austrian proof marks with an '82 date code alongside the import mark "STEYR, SECAUCUS, NJ." This Mannlicher Luxus presents the hallmark styling and construction details associated with Steyr’s early-1980s production.
