The Standard A2 configuration centers on a forged A2 fixed carry-handle upper with the classic, elevation- and windage-adjustable rear sight. It pairs with a rifle-length gas system and an A-frame front sight base that includes a bayonet lug and a bottom sling swivel, delivering the traditional A2 sight picture and handling.
Its 20-inch chrome-moly heavy barrel features a 1:9 twist and is threaded 1/2x28 with an A2 birdcage flash suppressor. The .223 Wylde chamber allows use of both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition.
The lower receiver is marked "RRA Rock River Arms," "COLONA, IL," "CAL. MULTI," and model "LAR-15M," with a SAFE/FIRE selector. The forged receivers include an ejection port cover and brass deflector, and the rifle accepts STANAG-pattern detachable box magazines.
Furniture and controls follow the A2 pattern: ribbed polymer rifle-length handguards, a fixed A2 buttstock with rear sling swivel, and an A2 pistol grip with the RRA logo. Factory spec overall length is approximately 39.5 inches with an 8.6-pound weight and a 13.5-inch length of pull. The rifle is finished in black and includes a manual safety.
