Product Description

IMI Galil AR Model 386 .223 Rem Pre-Ban Action Arms Import, 16-inch Carbine, Folding Stock, Threaded Muzzle, Bayonet Lug (1987-1988)

This Israeli-made Galil AR Model 386 is a pre-1989 Action Arms import that retains its original configuration and markings. Built on a milled receiver with Galil lightening cuts, it is the 16-inch carbine variant with a right-folding steel stock. The AAL-prefix serial range aligns with its period of import, and the rear night-sight component is stamped "1056," matching the last four of the serial. It comes complete with the original Action Arms box, factory literature, sling, and an assortment of Galil-pattern steel magazines.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.

Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.

Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: Minor, superficial scratches and blemishes are present. Factory grease is present on this rifle.

    What’s Included

    • Action Arms factory carton (original box)
    • Factory literature: Action Arms/IMI manual and specification sheets
    • Black nylon sling
    • Magazines: 1x 50-round, 2x 35-round, and 5x 12-round Galil-pattern steel magazines

Imported by Action Arms and marked accordingly, this Galil AR carbine reflects late-1980s production from IMI in Israel. The configuration and features align with pre-ban imports, including the folding stock, threaded muzzle, and integral bayonet lug on the front sight/gas block. The milled receiver shows the correct Galil lightening cuts, and the markings are crisp and legible.

Model 386 denotes the 16-inch carbine format. This example is chambered in .223 Rem and uses a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt. It features an ambidextrous safety selector and a right-side, reciprocating charging handle with a knurled knob for positive control.

The rifle retains the correct sighting system: a hooded front post on the gas block and a two-position rear aperture on the top cover, both with flip-up night-sight hardware. The stock is the right-folding tubular steel type with a serrated buttplate, paired with a black polymer pistol grip and ribbed polymer handguard.

Collectibility is reinforced by the original Action Arms factory carton and factory literature, along with the AAL-prefix serial context and a rear night-sight component stamped "1056" that matches the last four of the serial. The included magazine set covers standard and extended lengths, adding practical range value while maintaining period-correct presentation. The bore condition is excellent, and factory grease remains present.
