Imported by Action Arms and marked accordingly, this Galil AR carbine reflects late-1980s production from IMI in Israel. The configuration and features align with pre-ban imports, including the folding stock, threaded muzzle, and integral bayonet lug on the front sight/gas block. The milled receiver shows the correct Galil lightening cuts, and the markings are crisp and legible.
Model 386 denotes the 16-inch carbine format. This example is chambered in .223 Rem and uses a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt. It features an ambidextrous safety selector and a right-side, reciprocating charging handle with a knurled knob for positive control.
The rifle retains the correct sighting system: a hooded front post on the gas block and a two-position rear aperture on the top cover, both with flip-up night-sight hardware. The stock is the right-folding tubular steel type with a serrated buttplate, paired with a black polymer pistol grip and ribbed polymer handguard.
Collectibility is reinforced by the original Action Arms factory carton and factory literature, along with the AAL-prefix serial context and a rear night-sight component stamped "1056" that matches the last four of the serial. The included magazine set covers standard and extended lengths, adding practical range value while maintaining period-correct presentation. The bore condition is excellent, and factory grease remains present.
