This German-made HK USP Compact Variant 1 in .40 S&W combines a DA/SA trigger with a manual safety/decocker, a cold hammer-forged polygonal barrel, and HK's Hostile Environment nitrocarburized slide. It features the ambidextrous paddle magazine release and fixed sights, along with proof marks from Ulm and CIP. The USP Compact V1 configuration provides a DA/SA trigger with a manual safety and decocker, paired with an external bobbed hammer and a loaded-chamber indicator. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release supports intuitive operation for either hand.
Its one-piece machined steel slide carries a Hostile Environment nitrocarburized finish and rear serrations. The frame is fiber-reinforced polymer with steel inserts and a checkered grip with backstrap ribs and USP molded text. A captive flat recoil spring with a polymer absorber bushing is specific to the Compact.
The 3.58 in cold hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling and a short-recoil, Browning-type tilting barrel operating system. Fixed sights consist of a post front with a white dot and a square-notch rear. Factory dimensions are approximately 6.81 in overall length, 5.00 in height, and 1.38 in width, with a weight of about 27.5 oz without the magazine.
This pistol uses HK's proprietary universal mounting grooves accessory interface. It includes three factory 12-round magazines with witness marks to 12, all marked Made in Germany, for a 12+1 capacity.
Country-of-origin and import markings include the CIP N proof, the Ulm stag/antler proof, the DE country code, and the HKI Columbus, GA import mark. The slide and barrel carry matching serial numbers.
