The system includes a 3-position adjustable gas regulator near the muzzle and a hydraulic buffer system. It feeds from detachable 30-round steel box magazines and accepts HCAR/1918A3-SLR pattern magazines.
The 20 in CMV steel barrel is fluted and dimpled, with 5/8x24 threads and a thread protector installed. A 1:10 RH twist supports the .30 caliber bore, and the bore presents sharp, well-defined rifling. The combination of materials and barrel features balances strength and heat management.
The rifle uses a steel receiver with external lightening cuts and a vented aluminum handguard with slots. A full-length 12 o'clock Picatinny rail spans both the receiver and handguard, with short 6 o'clock rail sections for accessory placement. Receiver markings include H.C.A.R., Caliber .30, and U.S. Patent No. 5,614,691.
Controls include a paddle-style magazine release, a right-side charging handle, and a manual safety. The polymer stock is collapsible and mounted on an AR-15-pattern carbine receiver extension, paired with a polymer pistol grip. Length of pull is 12.5 in, with an overall length of approximately 42.45 in and weight around 12.5 lb for this 20 in configuration.
Made in the United States, this configuration offers modern materials and features in a high-capacity .30-06 platform with a durable steel receiver and comprehensive rail space.
