This Tier III centennial commemorative highlights period-correct details throughout. The slide shows vertical rear serrations and a non-lowered ejection port, paired with fixed GI-pattern sights consisting of a small staked blade front and small notch rear. The steel frame and slide wear a blued/black oxide finish, and the build retains a full-size Government 5-inch barrel format.
Controls and small parts follow the traditional pattern: a long, smooth trigger; a wide-spur, checkered hammer; a checkered magazine release; and the combination of a single-side thumb safety and grip safety. The mainspring housing is flat and includes a lanyard loop. Double-diamond checkered wood panels complete the classic 1911 look and feel.
Commemorative markings are central to this model. Alongside the "MODEL OF 1911-2011" rollmark and U.S. service inscriptions, the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY." An "H" stamp appears on the top of the slide. Many examples from this series feature serial numbers ending in "1911"; the observed serial on this pistol carries an "N" prefix and ends in "1911."
Chambered in .45 ACP with a 7+1 capacity, this single-action, semi-automatic 1911 uses a single-stack magazine interface. It is a limited-edition, U.S.-made Colt reproduction of the classic Government Model, with orders for this series accepted through November 30, 2011 and this example documented as manufactured in 2013.
